Terms and Conditions for The Classic High School Teacher Partner Program

Last updated: October 18, 2026

These terms govern participation in The Classic High School Teacher Partner Programme.

The programme is operated by Francesca Hudson, a sole trader based in New Zealand, trading as The Classic High School Teacher.

Business address: 33 Lindsay Street, Christchurch, New Zealand
Partner contact: [email protected]

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the programme operator. “You” and “your” mean the individual or organisation approved to participate.

1. Applying and joining

The programme is free to join. You do not need to purchase a resource or have a minimum audience size to apply.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. If applying for an organisation, you must have authority to act on its behalf.

You must provide accurate application information and keep your contact and payment details current.

Applications are reviewed individually. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Participation begins when we confirm your approval and activate your referral arrangements.

By submitting an application and accepting these terms, you agree to follow them if approved.

2. Your relationship with us

You participate independently. Programme membership does not create employment, a legal partnership, an agency relationship or authority to represent us.

You cannot enter agreements, make commitments, collect customer payments or offer refunds on our behalf.

You decide whether and when to make suitable recommendations. There are no guaranteed earnings or minimum sales requirements.

You cannot appoint sub-affiliates or transfer your partner account without our written approval.

3. Eligible resources

All paid educational courses, toolkits and downloadable resources sold by The Classic High School Teacher are eligible for commission, except Thinking Day Senior, Thinking Day Junior and their related products.

The Thinking Day exclusion includes memberships, subscriptions, individual lessons, workbook packs, bundles and other offers sold as part of either Thinking Day range.

Eligible resources purchased as checkout additions or immediate post-purchase upsells also qualify, subject to the initial-order rules in section 6.

New educational resources added to our library are included unless they fall within the Thinking Day exclusion or we notify partners otherwise before the change takes effect.

Free resources, gift cards, tutoring, consulting and professional or organisational licences are not commission-eligible unless we expressly confirm otherwise in writing.

For a bundle containing both eligible resources and excluded Thinking Day products, we will state the commission-eligible amount in the partner offer information before it is promoted.

Eligibility remains subject to the referral, tracking, payment and other requirements in these terms. A later separate purchase does not qualify merely because the resource itself is eligible.

4. Commission rate and calculation

The standard commission is 30% of the qualifying amount actually collected for an eligible purchase.

The qualifying amount:

  • Is calculated after discounts or credits.

  • Excludes sales tax, GST, VAT and similar taxes collected.

  • Excludes refunded, reversed or charged-back amounts.

  • Excludes ineligible items within an order.

We do not deduct our ordinary checkout payment-processing fees before calculating your commission.

For example, if a customer pays US$39 for an eligible resource, excluding tax, the commission is US$11.70.

An eligible checkout addition is calculated separately using the same rules.

Commission calculations are rounded to the nearest cent. Different rates apply only where confirmed in a written campaign arrangement before the relevant referral.

5. The 30-day referral window

A customer must follow your assigned referral link and complete their first qualifying order within 30 days of the qualifying referral click.

The referral must be recorded and attributed to you through our tracking system, subject to correction of verified errors.

A referral click alone does not earn commission.

If a customer clicks links from more than one partner, the most recent valid partner referral recorded before the purchase will receive attribution, subject to the 30-day limit.

Only one partner can receive commission for the same purchase.

6. Initial orders, checkout additions and later purchases

Commission applies to the referred customer’s initial qualifying order, including expressly eligible checkout additions or immediate post-purchase upsells forming part of that checkout sequence.

An immediate post-purchase upsell must be purchased through the offer presented directly after that checkout. It does not include a later purchase made through an email, a separate website visit or a new checkout journey.

The 30-day window is a deadline for making the initial qualifying purchase. It is not a period of commission entitlement on every purchase the customer makes.

Separate subsequent orders do not earn commission, even if placed within 30 days of the referral click.

There is no lifetime customer attribution or recurring commission entitlement.

For example:

  • A customer follows your link and makes an eligible purchase 10 days later: the initial order can qualify.

  • They also accept an expressly eligible immediate checkout upsell: that addition can qualify.

  • They return the following week and place a separate order: that later order does not qualify.

  • They buy another resource six months later: no commission is payable on that purchase.

A later separate referral click does not restart commission entitlement for a customer who has already completed their initial qualifying order under the programme.

A different arrangement applies only if we agree to it expressly in writing.

7. Referral tracking and commission attribution

Your assigned referral link must be used

To qualify for commission, the customer must use your assigned referral link before purchasing, and the purchase must be recorded as attributable to you under the programme’s tracking rules.

You are responsible for sharing the correct link. The customer is responsible for following it.

A recommendation alone does not create a commission entitlement. No commission is payable merely because:

  • You introduced someone to our business.

  • You discussed or recommended a resource.

  • The customer mentions your name or says you referred them.

  • You provide messages, screenshots or other evidence of a recommendation.

  • The customer intended to use your link but did not do so.

No retrospective attribution for unused links

If a customer purchases without using your referral link, we will not retrospectively assign that purchase to you.

Please do not ask customers to cancel, request a refund or repurchase solely to create affiliate attribution.

Discount codes do not establish referral attribution unless we have expressly designated a particular code as an approved tracking method in writing.

Tracking can be interrupted

Referral tracking may be affected by cookie choices, browser restrictions, deleted cookies, private browsing, changes of browser or device, security software and other technical factors.

Clicking a link does not, by itself, guarantee that a later purchase will be attributed successfully. The purchase must satisfy the programme’s referral window, initial-order and eligibility requirements.

Where no valid referral is recorded, commission is not payable unless a verified error on our side is established as described below.

Tracking records and verified errors

Our affiliate-platform records are the primary basis for calculating commission, subject to correction of verified errors.

If you believe a valid tracked purchase has been omitted or calculated incorrectly, contact us promptly, preferably within 60 days of the purchase or relevant statement. Contact us at [email protected]

We will reasonably investigate the issue. A correction may be made where platform records or other reliable technical evidence establish that the purchase met the programme requirements and an error occurred in our setup, tracking or calculation.

Evidence that a recommendation took place is not, by itself, evidence of a tracking error.

This review process does not allow retrospective attribution where the customer did not use an approved referral method.

Nothing in this section excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Monthly payment schedule

We process commission payments once per month, on the first day of the month. If that date is not a New Zealand business day, we process payments on the next New Zealand business day.

Each payment run includes all unpaid commissions that have completed a 15-calendar-day waiting period by the start of that run and otherwise meet these terms.

The waiting period begins when the customer’s payment is successfully received. It allows time for payment verification and any early refunds or reversals.

We do not make individual payments on the 15th day after each purchase. Eligible commissions are paid together in the next monthly payment run.

For example:

  • A commission that completes its waiting period on 20 October is included in the November payment run.

  • A commission that completes its waiting period on 5 November is included in the December payment run.

Payment requires cleared customer funds, valid partner payment details and no unresolved issue affecting the commission.

Commissions that are not yet eligible roll forward to a later monthly run. There is no minimum payout threshold during the pilot.

If a purchase is refunded, reversed or charged back after commission has been paid, the adjustment provisions in section 10 apply.

Payment-provider processing times may affect when funds become available in your account. All payment dates refer to New Zealand time.

9. Payment method, currency and fees

Commissions are calculated and paid in US dollars through PayPal, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

After approval, you must provide an accurate PayPal payment email and any reasonably required payment or tax information.

You are responsible for ensuring your account can receive commercial payments in the relevant currency and country.

We pay any sender fees charged to us. Fees charged to you for receiving, converting or withdrawing your payment are your responsibility. Your net receipt may therefore be lower than the commission shown on your statement.

We do not increase payments to compensate for recipient fees or exchange-rate differences.

If payment fails, we will contact you and retain the unpaid amount pending corrected details or an agreed alternative. A failed payment does not automatically forfeit your valid commission.

For school or organisational fundraising, the approved organisation must authorise participation and provide an account it is entitled to use. Organisational fundraising payments must not be redirected into an individual’s personal account without appropriate authority and our agreement.

10. Refunds, chargebacks and adjustments

No commission is earned on amounts refunded, reversed, charged back or not successfully collected.

For a partial refund, commission is recalculated on the remaining qualifying amount.

If an affected commission has already been paid, we may offset the corresponding amount against future commission. If no further commission is expected, we may request repayment of the overpaid amount and provide an explanation.

We will not deduct unrelated amounts without a valid basis.

Customer refunds, remedies and disputes are handled by us under applicable law and the relevant customer terms. Partners must not promise or refuse customer remedies on our behalf.

11. Tax responsibilities

The Classic High School Teacher operates from New Zealand. Partners may be based in other countries and participate independently.

You are responsible for declaring commission income and paying any income tax, self-employment tax, social contributions or other taxes applicable to your participation in your country of tax residence and any other relevant jurisdiction.

We do not pay your personal tax liabilities or increase your commission to cover them. The advertised commission rate is before any tax deductions required by law and any payment-provider fees charged to you.

Except where legally required, we do not deduct or remit tax on your behalf. If we are required to withhold tax, report payments or provide information to a tax authority, we will comply. Any amount lawfully withheld and remitted on your behalf will count towards payment of your commission.

You must provide accurate information about your identity, country of tax residence and business status, together with any tax forms, invoices or other documentation reasonably required to process payments or meet legal obligations. We may pause payment until required information is supplied.

If GST, VAT or a similar tax applies to your services, notify us before your first payment and provide any legally required invoice. Its treatment will be determined under applicable law; it is not automatically added to commission.

We do not provide individual tax advice. If you are unsure of your obligations, obtain advice from a qualified adviser in your jurisdiction.

12. Clear commission disclosures

You must clearly disclose your financial relationship whenever you make a recommendation that includes or directs people to your referral link.

For example:

“I may earn a commission if you purchase through this link, at no additional cost to you.”

Use the “no additional cost” wording only where it is accurate.

Place disclosures with the recommendation, where people can notice and understand them before acting. A disclosure only in your profile, website footer or these terms is insufficient.

For videos, include a clear disclosure within the video. For spoken recommendations, disclose the relationship verbally.

Follow the advertising, endorsement and disclosure requirements applicable to your location, audience and platform.

13. Accurate, responsible recommendations

You must:

  • Describe resources accurately using current information.

  • Recommend based on the family’s needs.

  • Distinguish your personal experience from information obtained through previews.

  • Only claim to have purchased, used or completed a resource if that is true.

  • Obtain appropriate permission before sharing testimonials or personal stories.

  • Respect a family’s decision not to purchase.

You must not:

  • Guarantee grades, academic results, income or particular outcomes.

  • Claim resources diagnose, treat or cure a disability or health condition.

  • Present a resource as a substitute for individual clinical or professional care.

  • Invent testimonials, qualifications, endorsements or personal experiences.

  • Use misleading prices, false urgency or unsupported claims.

  • Suggest that a school, employer or professional body endorses the programme without permission.

Curriculum and assessment suitability

Our resources teach general, transferable reading, writing and study skills. They are not designed to follow a particular national curriculum, state standard, examination board, qualification or school assessment framework unless a product description expressly states otherwise.

Terminology, writing conventions and assessment expectations may differ between schools and jurisdictions. We do not guarantee that a resource covers every requirement of a particular course, assignment or examination.

Schools, teachers, tutors and other professionals must assess suitability for their learners and check the materials against the relevant curriculum, assignment instructions and marking criteria before recommending or using them.

Partners must not describe our resources as curriculum-approved, examination-board endorsed or aligned with specific standards unless we have expressly confirmed that claim in writing.

Any classroom, tutoring or school use also requires the appropriate licence. Curriculum suitability does not change the usage rights granted with a purchase.

14. Professional and employer requirements

You are responsible for checking whether commission-based referrals are permitted by your employer, professional body, licensing authority, school or organisation.

Obtain any necessary permission before participating.

If personal commissions are prohibited, you must not accept them or attempt to avoid the restriction through another person or account.

You must not make access to your professional services, teaching or support conditional on a family purchasing a resource.

Disclosure does not override a professional or employer prohibition.

15. Promotional methods

You may share approved referral links through relevant, lawful recommendations, your own content and communities that permit commercial recommendations.

Without our prior written approval, you must not:

  • Run paid advertisements promoting our resources.

  • Bid on our business or product names as advertising keywords.

  • Register domains, accounts or profiles that impersonate us or appear official.

  • Publish referral links on coupon, cashback, deal or browser-extension services.

  • Offer cashback, rebates or incentives for purchases.

  • Recruit others to promote through your account.

You must not send spam, use purchased contact lists, post where promotion is prohibited or send unsolicited bulk messages.

Artificial clicks, cookie stuffing, forced redirects, hidden tracking and other attempts to manipulate attribution are prohibited.

Your own purchases and purchases you place or fund on someone else’s behalf do not qualify. Genuine independently paid purchases by people you know may qualify where no manipulation is involved.

16. Materials, branding and usage rights

We retain ownership of our courses, worksheets, videos, scripts, graphics, branding and other materials.

While approved, you may use promotional assets expressly supplied for partner sharing, solely to promote eligible resources in accordance with these terms.

Approved marketing materials and brand consistency

When promoting our resources through the Partner Programme, you must use the current marketing materials we supply or expressly approve in writing. These may include graphics, product descriptions, email templates, social posts and videos.

You may add a brief, truthful personal introduction or recommendation, your assigned referral link and the required commission disclosure. Any personal comments must comply with these terms and must not introduce new product claims, promises or guarantees.

Without our prior written approval, you must not:

  • Create your own branded advertisements, graphics, videos, brochures, landing pages or product descriptions.

  • Rewrite supplied promotional copy or change its meaning.

  • Alter our logos, colours, fonts, product names or visual designs.

  • Edit teaching previews or remove branding, disclosures or notices.

  • Combine our materials with other branding in a way that suggests a joint product, official endorsement or business partnership.

  • Use AI or another service to generate or modify promotional materials about our resources.

You may resize supplied graphics proportionally or make minor formatting adjustments needed for a platform, provided no content is cropped out, distorted or obscured.

If you need a different format or want to propose your own material, contact us for written approval before publishing. Approval applies only to the version and use reviewed.

We may update or withdraw marketing materials. You must stop using withdrawn materials and update or remove affected content under your control promptly, within seven calendar days of notice, or sooner where reasonably necessary to address inaccurate or unlawful content.

Permission to use supplied materials is limited to promoting the programme while you remain an approved partner. It does not transfer ownership or permit other uses.

Partner participation does not include:

  • Free access to complete paid resources.

  • Permission to share paid course files, logins or downloads.

  • Permission to reproduce teaching previews unless expressly authorised.

  • Classroom, tutoring, school-wide or clinical usage rights.

  • Permission to resell, translate, repackage or create derivative teaching products.

A personal purchase does not create professional teaching rights beyond the applicable product licence.

Contact us separately about professional or organisational licences.

17. Privacy and confidentiality

We use your application, contact, payment and programme information to review applications, administer participation, track referrals, calculate commissions, make payments and meet legal obligations.

Relevant information may be handled by our authorised team, advisers and service providers, including our course platform and payment provider, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Providing information is voluntary, but we may be unable to approve or pay you without required details.

You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us. Our Privacy Policy provides further information about collection, use, storage, overseas handling and your rights.

You must not send us identifiable student, client, health or learning records for referral purposes.

Programme participation does not entitle you to customer contact details or permission to market to referred customers.

Protect any non-public customer or business information you receive through the programme. Do not share account credentials, private reports or confidential information.

18. Questions, monitoring and payment reviews

We may review public promotional content and request relevant examples of how our resources are being promoted.

If we identify a concern, we may ask you to correct or remove material, pause a campaign or provide an explanation.

We may temporarily hold affected commissions while reasonably investigating suspected fraud, tracking errors, disputes or material breaches. We will explain the concern where lawful and reasonably practicable.

We will not withhold unrelated valid commissions merely because you stop participating.

19. Suspension and termination

You may leave the Partner Programme at any time by emailing us.

We may suspend or revoke your partner status with immediate effect by written notice, including by email, where we reasonably consider this necessary to protect our customers, business, brand, legal compliance or programme integrity.

Reasons may include:

  • Breaching these terms.

  • Using unapproved marketing materials or making misleading claims.

  • Failing to disclose commissions.

  • Misusing course materials, customer information or referral tracking.

  • Fraudulent, unlawful, abusive or harmful conduct.

  • A professional or employer restriction that prevents participation.

We do not have to provide a warning or an opportunity to correct a breach before taking immediate action. We will explain the reason where lawful and reasonably practicable.

We may also end participation without alleging misconduct by giving 14 days’ written notice.

After suspension or termination

You must immediately stop making new promotions, stop presenting yourself as an active partner and stop using partner marketing materials.

Remove referral links and partner branding from content you control as soon as reasonably practicable, and within seven calendar days of notice. We may deactivate your referral links immediately.

No commission is earned on purchases made while your account is suspended or after termination, unless we confirm otherwise in writing.

Valid commissions earned before suspension or termination remain payable under these terms. Commissions affected by a reasonable investigation may be held while that investigation is completed. Fraudulent or otherwise ineligible transactions do not qualify for commission.

Suspension or termination does not, by itself, forfeit valid commissions already earned.

Confidentiality, intellectual property, payment adjustments and other provisions intended to continue after termination remain in effect.

20. Changes to the programme

We may update, suspend or close the Partner Programme.

For material changes—including commission rates, eligible resources, referral attribution or payment arrangements—we will normally provide at least 30 days’ advance notice by email.

We may make changes or temporarily suspend the programme immediately and without advance notice where reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

  • Address fraud, security risks or programme abuse.

  • Respond to significant platform or payment-provider issues.

  • Prevent materially misleading promotion or protect customers.

Where advance notice is not possible, we will notify affected partners as soon as reasonably practicable and explain the change.

Changes apply prospectively. They do not retrospectively reduce valid commissions already earned. Suspected fraud, errors, refunds and reversals remain subject to the relevant provisions of these terms.

You may stop participating if you do not accept a change. Where appropriate, we may require express acceptance of revised terms before participation continues.

21. Important disclaimers and responsibility

Educational resources and outcomes

Our resources provide general educational instruction and practical learning support. They are not individual assessments, diagnoses, therapy or medical advice, and do not replace professional support where needed.

Students have different needs, circumstances and levels of engagement. We do not guarantee particular grades, examination results, improvements within a specified timeframe or suitability for every learner.

Partners must describe resources accurately and must not make guarantees or claims on our behalf beyond those we have expressly authorised.

Independent participation and earnings

You participate independently and are responsible for your own promotional activities, expenses, professional permissions and compliance obligations.

We do not guarantee referral traffic, sales, commission income or recovery of any expenses you choose to incur. Do not incur advertising or other promotional costs expecting reimbursement unless we have agreed in writing beforehand.

Technology and third-party services

The programme relies on third-party platforms, tracking tools and payment services. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or successful tracking in every circumstance.

We will take reasonable steps to investigate reported errors and resolve issues within our control. Tracking queries and valid commission payments remain subject to the other provisions of these terms.

Responsibility for promotional conduct

Each party remains responsible for its own acts and omissions.

You are responsible for claims, statements and promotional materials you create, including obtaining permissions and making required commission disclosures.

If you become aware of a complaint, misleading statement, privacy concern or unauthorised use of our materials connected with your promotion, notify us promptly and cooperate reasonably in correcting it.

You must stop or correct promotional activity that we reasonably identify as unlawful, misleading or contrary to these terms.

Limits on liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither party will be liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses arising from programme participation, including speculative future earnings or loss of business opportunities.

Both parties must take reasonable steps to minimise losses arising from a problem.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing removes our obligation to pay valid commissions or provide remedies required by law.

Legal rights

These terms do not require you or any customer to waive rights that cannot legally be waived, including applicable consumer protections.

This section governs the partner relationship. Customer purchases remain subject to the relevant customer terms and applicable law.

22. Disputes and governing law

Please contact us first with any concern. Both parties agree to try in good faith to resolve disputes through discussion before starting proceedings, except where urgent relief is needed.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and disputes arising from or connected with the Partner Programme are governed by New Zealand law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, both parties agree that the courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve those disputes.

This agreement does not override any mandatory legal right to bring proceedings in another jurisdiction or prevent a competent regulator from exercising its powers.
