And what often looks like procrastination is actually something else.
Â
It’s cognitive overload.
Â
Research tasks require several skills at once:
Â
 reading information
 identifying key ideas
organising notes
 turning those notes into writing
Â
For many neurodiverse learners, no one has ever shown them how to do this step by step.
Â
So the assignment feels impossible.
YES I WANT TO SUPPORT MY TEEN
The Missing Skill
Most students are told to:
“do some research and write a report.”
But very few are taught the process in between.
Research Paper Roadmap fills that gap.
Instead of expecting students to guess the process, this course shows them exactly how to move from:
information → notes → paragraphs → research paper.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my teen need to be diagnosed with dyslexia?
No. The course is simply designed with dyslexic learning profiles in mind. Many students who struggle with organisation and writing benefit from the structure.
Is this a grammar course?
No.
This program focuses on process, not grammar.
It teaches students how to move from research to writing.
How long does the course take?
Most students complete the program in 4–6 hours total, working through the modules at their own pace.
Can this help homeschool students?
Yes.
Many homeschool families use the program as a structured introduction to research writing.
Does my teen need parental supervision?
Not necessarily.
The lessons are designed so students can follow them independently, although some parents like to sit nearby during the first module.
What if my teen struggles with writing in general?
This course focuses specifically on research writing.
If your teen struggles to get ideas onto the page at all, you may want to start with the Write Anything Toolkit before moving into research writing.

Welcome to The Classic High School Teacher!
Hi there! I’m Francesca.
As a high school English teacher — and a parent — I’ve spent years watching capable, intelligent teens struggle with one very specific academic challenge:
turning research into writing.
Many students can explain ideas clearly when they talk.
They understand the topic.
They gather information.
But when it comes time to organise those ideas into a structured research paper, everything suddenly feels overwhelming.
That’s exactly why I created Research Paper Roadmap.
This course was designed to break research writing into clear, manageable steps so students can move from confusion to clarity — without feeling lost along the way.
Inside the program, teens learn how to:
• read research sources without overwhelm
• collect useful notes instead of copying information
• organise ideas into structured paragraphs
• build a complete research paper step by step
Over the past 20 years I have taught English Literature, Drama, Social Studies and Ancient History at the high school level. I’ve also created teaching resources used by educators and families around the world.
Throughout that time, one thing has remained constant:
Many students are never actually shown how the research writing process works.
They are simply expected to figure it out.
My work focuses on changing that.
By breaking complex academic skills into clear, practical systems, students can finally approach writing with greater confidence — and a much clearer sense of where to begin.
My greatest passion is helping young people develop the thinking and communication skills they will rely on long after school.
Because when students understand how to organise their ideas and express them clearly, an entire world of learning opens up.
And that confidence can shape the way they approach challenges for years to come.
